Good evening everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. This past weekend I finished up my Christmas craft gifts and shipped out a few goodies to loved ones. Christmas is certainly very different this year and hopefully nothing I will ever experience again. I’ve been spending pretty much all my time at home and while at first, I was hesitant on even decorating this year, I’m glad I did. I will be spending both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home and plan on just relaxing and being grateful that all of my family has made it safely through the year.
Since this year has been really such a dark year, I wanted my Christmas nails to kinda fit the mood. That’s where my inspiration for some dark, mysterious holiday nails came from. For my official Christmas nails, I started off with three thin coats of Winter Holly by China Glaze. This evergreen blend is packed with gold holographic and green metallic micro glitters. Next, I used Tanya by Zoya with the Celebration BPX-L008 plate from Born Pretty to create a deep holiday swirl. Everything is then sealed with two coats of Marvel Liquid Macro Top Coat by SuperChic Lacquer.
I love how the Zoya has a jelly-like finish so the glitters from China Glaze shine through. Since this year is all about staying home for the holidays, I thought I would share a few my home decorations and some cute shots of my fur babies.
This was the first Christmas with my latest rescue kitty and considering he is still pretty much a kitten, the tree was his mountain. There were a few times I was awakened at night to find him at the top stretched out batting ornaments off! I use to be all about the “pretty” Christmas tree where all the ornaments were matching but in recent years I’ve started incorporating some of the family ornaments that I’ve acquired since I was a little girl. I’d like to share a few of them with you and give a little back story.
Mrs. Claus and Santa Claus were made by my mom in the late ’80s, the glow worm is another love from childhood, the custom Nina ornament was made by a family friend back in 1984, the gingerbread guy was also made by my mom, the crochet angel was made by grandmother who passed away almost 20 years ago, and the ceramic snowman was made by my mom. My tree is pretty much packed with things my mom and grandmother made.
My china cabinet is transformed every year into a winter wonderland and again is packed with antiques and a few new pieces. I love setting up my china cabinet almost as much as I like decorating my tree!
I don’t have a fireplace so I decorate my entertainment center instead. To me, it just adds another fun spot and more holiday cheer that I could certainly use this year. Now what we all love, some furbaby shots!
Sally just loves having her photo taken and just strikes the perfect poses! I’m pretty sure she is wondering why I have so many cat ornaments and no dog ornaments! This is Leroy’s first Christmas and he has certainly loved every single ornament!
So what do you guys think of my holiday nails and did you enjoy seeing some of my Christmas decors? I really want to start trying to share a little more of my everyday life and hopefully inspire more aspects of my life. Thank you all for stopping by this evening and I will be seeing you all again soon!

What I love best is your adorable dog and the sentimental ornaments. The ornaments make the holiday special. Your mani is a lovely one for the season.

I agree, this year is one for the books. My husband and I will also be staying in and exchanging gifts and calling family on FaceTime. Thank you for sharing your holiday decorations! I love hearing stories on people’s ornaments. It’s like looking through a holiday scrap book. 🙂
