Good afternoon!!! I hope you are all having a lovely day!!! I am super excited for today’s post! Back in July as many of you know, I attended Cosmoprof North America and got a sneak peek at all the lovely collection China Glaze has in-store for us and today I get to share one of those in full depth. The new Paint It Black collection goes dark for Halloween this year. This collection consists of 6 edgy lacquers ranging from matte, metallic, holographic, and more. When I saw the sneak peek from China Glaze, I was blown away by how many black I didn’t realize I needed. All of these lacquers were pretty stunning and I knew I wanted to play! Let’s dive on into the Paint It Black collection from China Glaze!
First up we have Pret-A-Potion. This is a matte black micro glitter that will be the perfect topper to any lacquer in your collection. This was surprisingly dense so you will get amazing coverage in just one coat. In my photos I am sharing on bare nail as to not take away from how dense this lacquer is. I am wearing one coat of Pret-A-Potion from China Glaze.
Next up we have a favorite of mine from the collection. Night and Slay is described as a black holographic glitter blend and it is so glittery awesome!! I can see getting a LOT of use out of this lacquer for sure and it will once again work with anyone’s collection. Great as a topper or layer. In my photos I am wearing two coats of Night and Slay by China Glaze over bare nail.
Next up anther beauty. Maliboo-boo is a traditional black holographic lacquer. Formula and coverage were spot on along with a great holographic finish! In my photos I am wearing just two coats of Maliboo-boo by China Glaze.
Next up we have the clear winner for the Paint It Black collection. Shadies & Gentlemen is a rich matte black that you will love! Mattes can sometime be tricky to apply but this one actually applied amazingly well. I do have some lines but those could be easily hidden with a coat using a makeup sponge. I have already created an awesome nail art look with this one too and will be sharing later this week. In my photos I am wearing two coats of Shadies & Gentlemen by China Glaze.
Now for a really unique lacquer in the collection. Wicked Liquid is a black gold metallic lacquer that is NOTHING like anything else I own. The color is very rich and luxuries with the perfect metallic formula. I normally hate metallics because of streaking but as you can see in my photos, there are none! In my photos I am wearing just one coat of Wicked Liquid by China Glaze.
Lastly we have Ash & Burn. This is a black base blend with copper micro glitters. This is a lovely shade and is packed full these tiny copper specks. In my photos I am wearing two coats of Ash & Burn by China Glaze.
So what do you guys think of the new Paint It Black Collection from China Glaze? I am loving a lot of these but I certainly say Night and Slay, Maliboo-boo, and Shadies & Gentlemen are a must own!!! Wow, I never knew there were so many takes on black either! Wicked Liquid and Night and Slay are my two favorites. I absolutely love them!
I just picked up this collection. Im not too sure about Pret-a-Potion but Im loving all the others!

Night and slay is amazing. All the sparkle is wow! But I want an orange polish too.
This is such a cool take on a collection – color theme but different finishes! The holo and holo sparkle are my favorite.
My Shadies and Gentlemen acted not wonderfully so I wasn’t a fan! I did love wicked liquid and Night and Slay!
There are some that I really enjoy in this collection but others that just doing do it for me (lee that black glitter one, no thanks).
There are some gorgeous polishes in this collection but I think my favorite might be Maliboo-boo!
